A poetic journey through my mind

Frozen Rain (trigger warning: sexual abuse, children)

silent faces, screaming eyes,
adult thoughts in a young childs guise
knowledge gained too soon, too late
disguised as love, but dispensed as hate
faces stiff with silent pain
tears backed up like frozen rain

Thank you. I try not to focus on any one subject…but that one, and the one below it…seem to come up a lot. And it’s not experience…mostly. I’m just a strong empath, and there are far too many of those stories in the world. One is far too many.

Meh. So serious. I try not to be maudlin, too…don’t always succeed. 😉

I did not see those poems as maudlin at all. As I said, carry on. I will be back to read this really good stuff. I don’t encounter that much of consistently well-written, thoughtful pieces here in this strange place.

  3. Yes, far too soon to become frozen and hardened! Continue speaking out, my dear friend!
